Irish electronic music duo Boots & Kats are back with an amazing release titled ‘People’s Dance’ on Hammer’s imprint Remmah. People’s Dance premieres today as a single ahead of the full EP which is due to drop on January 20th, marking Remmah’s 10th release since its inception.

Having formed Boots & Kats back in 2015, both Jack Keogh and Ciarán Martin have gone on to establish themselves as one of Irish dance music’s most enjoyable and feel-good duos.

Since then, the pair have gone on to perform all across the country at countless club shows like the legendary Toast parties, as well as regular appearances to District 8 and Index. Festival appearances at the likes of Electric Picnic, Life Festival, Yurt City, Otherside, and so on. Not to mention parties abroad such as Parklife and Snowbombing too.

Boots & Kats have very clearly built a strong reputation as fantastic party-starters, or better phrased as ‘Intergalactic Party Wardens’ since they formed 8 years ago. Though they have spent the majority of their time producing too during this period, resulting in numerous productions that vary in jackin’ styles that range from disco to funk, house to acid, and beyond.

People’s Dance moves away from the pair’s previous release that leaned more heavily on Italo and disco influences, as this 4 track EP has been tailored for a more club-focused sound, spanning right across the acid and house spectrum and even touching on elements of techno in parts. Today’s premiere ‘People’s Dance’ is best described as a modern take on a 90s acid techno tune with pacing drums, a driving acid line, and layered synth stabs throughout for good measure. Dig in!

People’s Dance releases in full on January 20th. You can pre-order the EP here.
