Staff WriterWe can confirm that jungle is alive and well among young Irish crews as our latest premiere from Dublin collective STINKAGE shows just that. Today we premiere ‘Awareness’, a liquid D&B trip by resident Cc0rm.
The STINKAGE sound explores breakbeats over ambient soundscapes, bringing a mix of 90s intelligent D&B to meet modern breakcore and jungle. Associated with the skate crew Stink.Inc, their antics see them shoot videos, mix tracks, and release EPs under the STINKAGE guise, with plans to form a label in the near future.
Inspired by their roots in skate culture, they are all about showcasing their community and the DIY approach that comes from that way of life. They currently host skate jams with live music and plan to run a night in the not too distant future. You can submit a mix via their Soundcloud for consideration (“sweaty mixes only” though!).
‘Atmosphere’ lays tribute to old skool sounds using a stripped back approach made up of cleverly chopped up vocals and breaks, a dark lead synth line that juxtaposes the breaks making for a rich atmosphere, as the title implies.
