Our latest premiere showcases the return of Presswork from his 18-month production hiatus. Tom McGrath (aka Presswork), has supplied us with a gorgeous deep house flip of Irish duo Cedarwood State Traxs’ track ‘Come On Out’. Aiming for a more stripped-back approach that focuses on the vocal and saxophone melody throughout while adding some piano and 303 melodies for good measure.

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Presswork has returned to his production roots after a year-and-a-half-long break. Boasting initial releases on numerous labels like Zone Focus, Hate Lab, Choki Biki Records, Rave Residence, Ballacid, and What Goes Up. Gaining support from Rebuke and Bklava in the process while also performing at notable LOST parties, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Presswork.

The 22-year-old DJ and producer’s eager to start 2023 as he means to go on with this lush remix filled with warm piano chords, atmospheric pads, and a delicious vocal-saxophone pairing that drives the composition from start to finish. Resulting in a fresh perspective compared to the original courtesy of Cedarwood State Trax.

When asked about the remix, this is what Presswork had to say; ‘When I originally heard ‘Come On Out’, I was hooked on the vocal and sax melody and instantly knew I wanted to remix the track. I decided to go for a more stripped-back take of the track, with a slower tempo and fewer elements in places, whilst also keeping the original vocal/sax melody. I also chose to incorporate some piano and 303 melodies to create more of a minimal vibe throughout.
