Dyl MooreRising Irish star HYYKEN is starting his year off right and will be featuring his new EP on the ‘&Friends’ imprint ran by Monki who is a regular on BBC radio 1 with her Defected show. The label has seen previous releases from the likes of Big Miz, Alex Virgo & Chambray.
HYYKEN who resides in Dundalk has been working extremely hard with getting regular releases out over the last couple of years. Tracks like his edit of Love Lockdown, Ghetto Siren and Profyle & Poze are building huge hype and noise around the rising producer.
Having releases on Irish labels RiotTrax & Reboot Records in the last 12 months has built a solid name for himself on the emerald isle. Taroch explains “Yeah massively it’s helped me, with everyone from Jelly Red to RiotTrax to Reboot Records I’ve been lucky to have been able to extend my reach in every direction north, south & west of Dublin thanks to wicked labels and their fan bases”.
More recently, HYYKEN’s success has fallen further afield onto giants of the industry like Patrick Topping, Jamie Jones & Elliot Adamson playing and supporting his music.
“It’s surreal, Jamie was the first which was so unexpected cause I never sent him the track. Elliot has always been a supporter of mine, so when Patrick got wind of a few of my tracks and started playing them it was proper euphoric for me.”
The B side of his new EP, Passion Innit has a fantastic energy and nostalgic feel throughout of 90’s ‘groovejet’ inspired drums, dark acid & distorted vocals creating a driving tech sound fit for the festival season.
