We premiere a track today from one of Dublin’s finest and most respected DJs, Johno. The DJ and producer can boast almost 20 years of DJ experience under his belt, playing at countless afterparties, raves, club shows and festivals in Dublin and Ireland along the way.
The Dublin Don strings together a classic house jam, that serves up just the right amount of funk and blissful joy that is affiliated with the quintessential house sound. Vintage 909 percussion is paired up with a bouncy baseline, which give the perfect groove. Immense deep pads take centre stage of the track and they’re complemented perfectly with arpeggiated synths that whirl in and out of the track ever so subtlety. This is a raw house jam that could be mistaken for an early Chicago record, hugely impressive work from the Dublin based producer.
Instead of reflecting back over those first 10 years, Tenements EP focuses on bringing new artists to the label (along with a couple of re-appearances), hinting at what the future may bring.
