UK label Zone Focus are back with their 7th offering, this time teaming up with Dublin-based artist Karl Guest to deliver Dance Again, a three track EP where double doses of electro flank a hard-hitting house cut. With this EP, Karl joins the ever-growing Zone Focus roster, bringing a new dimension of sound to the label in 2021.
Broken Intellect and Self_Control pull influence from the early Detroit scene; syncopated 808’s provide the rhythm power while harpy synth sequences and acid lines supply us with an ethereal soundscape to get lost in, all the while carrying the essential bite necessary to grab the dance floors’ attention at peak-time hours and teleport it elsewhere.
Dance Again, both in title and in sound, tips its hat to the imminent and long-awaited reopening of club spaces. Made up of chunky bass lines and distorted drums overlaid by a catchy piano melody, this house export was custom made for people cutting shapes in perfect unison and the coming together of what are sadly now, distant dance floors.
