Today’s premiere is a collaborative production between Irish DJ, producer and visual artist OKAY and Bianca Project, who is also an Irish DJ, producer and designer who is originally from Clare but is now based in Boston. Both artists have come together in creating a musical project that sees both artists delve into sounds reminiscent of trance, techno, rave and breaks respectively.

Our premiere today is a collaborative production between OKAY and Bianca Project, with their track titled ‘System 9’ being the result of a larger collaborative project carried out remotely between Edinburgh, Galway, Clare, Sydney and Boston over the last year. During this time, this enabled the pair to refine their sound both in person and online while back and forth on their travels.

OKAY, who may be best known for running Galway-based club nights Verve, who has brought a flurry of acts like Long Island Sound, Yasmin Gardezi, Holly Lester, Pagan, Prozak and more to the west of Ireland in recent times. Additionally, OKAY carries out a range of graphic and video design artwork under his design moniker Hybrid Energy.

Bianca Project is an Irish producer, DJ and designer from Clare currently based in Boston. His production style takes notable influence and inspiration from the early 90s rave era, with a heavy emphasis on the utilisation of hardware from the time. His debut release last year titled ’96 Mirage’ saw him blend 90s piano breaks with hardcore percussive elements, making it indistinguishable from tracks of that time. System 9 is Padraic’s first release of 2023, as he prepares for his debut EP which is due to be released in the near future.

System 9 is a track bursting with influences of trance, techno, rave and breaks throughout, as OKAY and Bianca Project join forces in creating a sensual track filled with rousing melodies, trembling low-end and a hint of nostalgia that makes this quite the buzzy listen.
