We start the week off as we mean to go on, with a stunning track that we’ve been looking forward to premiering since the start of January.

Today we kick off with a dreamy 90’s Robert Miles-esque track by the young DJ and producer, Presswork. The track is released with Scottish label What Goes Up, as the excellent partnership we’ve seen between Scottish and Irish labels and producers continues to blossom.

Tom McGrath aka Presswork, is the latest young talent to come out of the city of Dublin. Having only started the Presswork project back in June 2020, he has already amassed a string of releases with the likes of Zone Focus, Hate Lab, Choki Biki Records, Rave Residence and Ballacid, which is a huge achievement in itself in such a short space of time.

Having played around various clubs in Dublin, and gained support from Irish heavyweights Rebuke and Mark Blair, Presswork is certainly someone we’ll be looking forward to hearing and seeing on lineups when normality resumes.

The What Goes Up label is an Edinburgh based collective, focusing on promoting the best that underground electronic music, both home and abroad, as their latest Various Artist compilation does just that.

The label and artists will be donating all the proceeds from the release to the Scottish charity, SAMH.

From the label:

We’re absolutely ecstatic, proud and everything in between to bring you the What Goes Up “VA Compilation – In Aid of SAMH” featuring superbly fresh & outright banging tracks sourced from some of the most talented upcoming producers this isle has to offer.

The 11 part compilation features everything from emotional, ambient whirlwinds to heavy hitting dance floor fillers. Each track can be purchased separately for £1 or the project as a whole can be picked up for £9. All proceeds from this VA and our Just Giving page will be donated to SAMH.

The biggest killer of men under 45 is suicide. When choosing a charity for this project, we wanted all profits raised go towards addressing the “taboo” topic of mental health and to assist in fighting the ongoing and the undiscriminating battle in any way we could. SAMH is the Scottish Association for Mental Health, a local charity to us who are focused on providing support and breaking the negative stigmas associated with how we open up about our mental health. If you wish to donate without purchasing the entire album you can do so through our Just Giving page here.

You can listen to our premiere below, plus support the full release by purchasing the compilation here.
