In the past few weeks and months we’ve taken solace in the sounds of ambient music much more than we normally would. Artists like Brian Eno, Nils Frahm and Boards of Canada are just some of the more well known acts we find ourselves continuously going back to, who never fail to provide us with some headspace

Many producers and DJs are using the Covid backdrop to take this time to experiment with a whole host of ambient soundscapes and this latest release really couldn’t have come at a better time.

Bill Mango, the main man behind the Griessmuehle nights Mango, has recently curated a release of ambient music entitled “Sleepy Snoozy Charity Ambient Compilation” (we have to admit, that title made us smile). It is dedicated to not only showcasing some incredibly talented producers, but also to raise funds for a very worthy cause – Solas Cancer Support Centre in Waterford. Unfortunately, cancer continues to be an ongoing battle and the care given to those in need is undoubtedly one of the most worthy causes to support. Solas rely completely on charitable donations, so this fundraiser will go a long way in providing the necessary care.

The collection is an impressive selection of artists and will be released over 3 volumes, the first to be released Dec 4th. There’s a limited run of tapes or digital downloads through Bandcamp.
