Nathan ClareShannen Blessing has done a fantastic job at solidifying herself as one of Ireland’s best up and coming DJs and producers that we have to offer. Possessing a broadly unique style she looks to mesh old inspirations with clever production techniques. She showcases this in her latest edit of a well known classic by Rodger Sanchez titled ‘Another Chance’.
Shannen has garnered a strong reputation for herself within the Irish techno scene over the last few years. Stellar mixing skills and a mature ear beyond her years for spinning and selecting records have aided in Shannen’s success since her club debut in 2019. Sharing the stage with techno heavyweights such as Lag, Introversion, Parallx, Sunil Sharpe, DVS1 and more. Not to mention a number of headline sell-out shows across the country and multiple festival appearances, most notably Life Festival, Electric Picnic and Fuinneamh Festival.
When asked about this edit, Shannen commented that; ‘Another Chance by Rodger Sanchez is a track I have loved and listened to since I was younger, which has inspired me to do this edit. With production, my aim is to keep writing, write what I feel in the moment and to be consistent with my releases. I find that I am continuously growing as an artist and I’m figuring more out about myself each time that I release. I hope you enjoy this edit as much as I enjoyed putting it together.’
This edit possesses the significant flair of the original, while bridging the gap production-wise that would make it more liable for faster paced listening. A new and improved groove has been implemented as well as a significant tempo increase that will allow Shannen’s take of ‘Another Chance’ to bode well with a number of productions that are similar to DJ Heartstring and Narciss in nature. The nostalgia is most certainly strong with this one!
