While we’re embracing the lack of clubs and nightlife, artists like TR One are busy releasing old gems, rarities and brand new EP’s and compilations.

Being no stranger to the Irish scene, Eddie Reynolds aka Tr One is a DJ and producer based in Carlow. A much-respected figure within Ireland’s fertile electronic music scene, Reynolds cites the likes of Dublin’s D1 Recordings, Kraftwerk and J Dilla as early influences. Equally inspired by vintage sounds from Chicago and Detroit, he started dabbling in production in the early 00s alongside fellow Irish producer, Dean Feeney.

Fast-forward over a decade and although the project may now consist of Reynolds only, his dedication to all things house, techno and electro remains unwavering. A prolific producer, Reynolds’ sounds has led him to some of his country’s most-renowned labels, including Lunar Disko, Apartment, Bodytonic and Pogo.

What’s more, his music has earned the respect of numerous high-profile names, and has been remixed by a stellar cast including Sonja Moonear, Lerosa and John Heckle.

Today, however, it’s all about Eddie’s new release. His ‘Grant’ EP featuring 4 original tracks, Anxiety, Oceanic, The Man From Yesterday and Wick. The EP digs deep into the styles and varied sounds that we have grown to recognise with TR One down through the years. ‘The Man From Yesterday’ is our pick of the release, with a distorted rolling groove that’s fit for the dark confines of any rave.
