Today, like many, we are treated to music from an Irish artist whose sound and productions makes us sit up and take note. The track in question is from a producer called Mark Lynam, aka Lynam
Lynam is the alias of a producer from the Northside of Dublin. Whilst Lynam has been making music for well over a decade, his new Glass EP sees the producer making his first official release. The two-track EP is the culmination of years carving out a sound. Glass is an atmospheric electronic song with melancholic strings, reverb-soaked vocals and euphoric synths.
The music video for Glass was created by best friend and long-time collaborator Calzone Kelly. Shot over the course of lockdown, it’s a homage to Dublin – new and old. Footage of the city, rendered quiet by lockdown is intercut with quick cuts of Dublin from antiquity, painstakingly trawled from archive images. Glass’ climax is a frenzied pastiche of years of club nights, festivals, nights out. A requiem for nightlife now made dormant by lockdown and a reminder that a return to that life is just around the corner.
We premiere the track ‘Glass’ below on our SoundCloud page. The music video also premiered over on Moskulas’s YouTube channel.
