From the legend who gave us ‘Crispy Bacon’ and ‘The Man With The Red Face’, Laurent Garnier is without a doubt one of the leading pioneers of underground dance music the world has to offer. His experience in the industry exceeds 4 decades and with no sign of slowing down, this feature length film ‘Off The Record’ aims to showcase Garnier’s life from his emergence to the music scene in the 1980’s to the present day.

‘Off The Record’ is the story of the birth and rise of one of house and techno music’s finest exports: acclaimed French DJ Laurent Garnier. The Sugar Club will be screening the premiere of the documentary on Saturday the 16th of July, followed by another screening the following week on Saturday the 23rd of July.

Through never-before-seen archive images and footage of Laurent’s recent world tour, you will experience a remarkably intimate portrait of a passionate trailblazer who followed his passion against all odds and eventually helped make a musical, social and political revolution happen. It is also a celebration of the ineffable collective music experience, much missed in recent times of self-isolation. The documentary also features Carl Cox, Blessed Madonna, Jeff Mills, Seth Troxler and many more.

Tickets for the screening can be purchased here.
