Cork’s ‘Flood’ label take on Dublin’s Wigwam basement with a headline show for Washington based artist ‘Ovid’ on his European tour supported by a stellar local line.
Flood are a label born in Cork by artists Doubt and Tension and have become known for their percussive take on dance music. Their releases have been played out on big international stages such as Object Blue, Lyzza, I Hate Models and many many more. Their most recent release ‘Stone Coaster’ by Ovid demonstrated the labels signature sound with dance floor ready hypnotic hard drum with an eerie sense of wonder to it, the EP also features a collab between the labels most prominent artists with ‘The Palace’ co- produced by Ovid, Doubt and Tension together. The EP gained features on Resident Advisor and DJ Mag and it has been lapping up dance floors and radio plays all over the world.
Ovid, who is appearing in Wigwam with ‘Flood presents Ovid’ on May 19th has been keeping busy as of lately with appearances on NTS, at clubs in his native Washington and with his upcoming tour of course which features appearances at London’s Peckham Audio with ‘Manuka Honey’ and ‘Nara’ and at Glasgow’s Stereo with ‘Leonce’ to name just a few. He is joined on the night with some of Dublin’s finest talent with ‘DJ Selky’ of Club Comfort, ‘darkmavis’ of Crane Club and ‘Little O’ of DDR. Each of which he has made a connection to through club music online as everything navigated from the dance-floor to cyberspace over the past two years, which makes it very special that this event can take place in person in one of Dublin’s finest spaces.
