Ones To Watch: BAUGRUPPE90 Set To Make Their Irish Debut This Weekend

German dance music duo BAUGRUPPE90 are set to make their Irish debut later this evening at The Sound House as part of a collaborative party between Oblivion and Counter Culture as they team up for the first time.

Based in the hive of techno and nightlife culture, BAUGRUPPE90 is the brainchild of Louis Köhler and Paul Vogler. Inspired by brutalist industrial aesthetics and blending influences from mid-90s DNB, House and early 2000s techno to synthesising a completely new, timeless sound. Their breakthrough in the industry is being hailed as a breath of fresh air by many. Numerous live appearances are underscored by a strong showing online, with their HÖR appearance drawing in resolute praise. 

Boasting a string of incredible releases that are made all the more notable by their full commitment to their visual branding, they work closely with graphic artists during the entire creative process in an attempt to ensure a fully-fledged audio-visual experience. Audiences in their exciting upcoming run of shows can look forward to experiencing the duo in an expanded setting, with their immersive concept on full display.

Support this evening comes from Erik Burka. The Latvian-born, Irish-based DJ, producer, promoter and label boss will hand over to Baugruppe90 tonight, acting as the perfect artist to do so. Having built a strong and reputable name for himself in the city by means of festival appearances at this year’s Life Festival and Fuinneamh Festival as well as a string of solid groove-based techno releases in the process. Additionally, Erik finds himself as a resident and co-creator of the Dublin-based party Hidden Love and dance music label Disintegrated which have both been redeeming projects in their own rights.

Opening proceedings in the main room you can find local newcomers Emmie and Cáite going b2b for the very first time too. This pairing will undoubtedly be one to check out given how impressive they have been since coming onto the scene in recent times.
