The jungle train will be rolling heavy through Galway this Friday and Saturday as Irish jungle label Rua Sound curate a two day takeover at Áras Na Gael, featuring a bunch of artists who’ve released on the label, alongside a whole host of Irish talent.

The Galway label Rua Sound, alongside its sub-label Foxy Jangle, have hosted a slew of bass music heavyweights since Rob Flynn (aka Rob Rua) and Cormac McMahon (aka Welfare) launched in 2015. Since then, the platform has released 19 records on 12” vinyl and digital formats from artists such as TMSV, Lewis James, Sully, and Arcane. In 2018, the Foxy Jangle sub-label was launched, featuring artists such as Tim Reaper, Kid Lib and FF.

This gig will be powered by the awesome RiseUp Soundsystem. Each act will be given a chance to work it to its core, so expect to hear jungle, footwork, grime, DnB and half-step bassy-ness from kick off.

The lineup is absolutely stacked, and all picked with careful consideration. Here are some of our highlights;

Sully, simply a master of his craft he has become synonymous with breaksy, intricate jungle, having evolved his sound since the early days of future garage.

Sun People, someone who has been coming to our ears of late has a wealth of tracks from the hybrid footwork, jungle space, all scratching a technical itch with precision that we love to hear.

EMA has been on fire lately, working on the fantastic Woozy label hosting a ton of ace artists, alongside collaborating with the mega Skin&Blister crew, a collective who encourage female identifying, trans and non-binary creatives in the realm of music and the arts.

If you’re up for some serious bass this weekend, then get to Galway immediately. Tickets can be purchased here, you know what to do.
