What was billed by many, ourselves included as the last hope for any sense of outdoor festival activity and fun in 2020, has sadly been postponed.

Let’s be honest, the whole of the dance music community were under no illusions that for Fuinneamh to have taken place this year, every single star in the universe would have had to align in its favour. It was an outside hope shared by many, but deep down it was always hope.

The festival team was ready to take on all options, having meticulously ran through all safety options, social distancing plans and potential ways to streamline the event to be Covid-19 compatible, but alas, it was not to be.

The Fuinneamh festival team is a crew of committed, passionate, dance music lovers, running this festival independently with no brand sponsors behind them. If you’re in a position to retain your festival ticket for 2021, please do so.

Dear Friends,

It truly breaks our hearts to write this post for you all, but we have made the extremely tough decision to postpone Fuinneamh 2020.

We don’t want this post to be all doom and gloom, so please, take a moment and read through it in full:

The news, although utterly devastating to finally hear it, may come as no surprise to most of you. It was always a possibility yet we kept working and kept hoping for so long.

Unfortunately, we have all been watching things move in a different direction than the one we’d hoped for over these past few weeks – cases are rising, counties are going back into lock down, whatever limited capacity that was set on outdoor gatherings is decreasing even more…

It’s the first time in our lives, we have had to go through something like this. But as always, we remember that we are in this together: Trust, Patience, Belief. This will pass.

With the most recent announcements even plans for our most scaled back and heavily socially-distanced version of the Festival this year would be impossible to implement. Postponing is the right call for now.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦

We have essentially spent the last 6 months studying how to run outdoor events with social-distancing in place.

We have been working alongside Government bodies and some of the most experienced Health & Safety personnel in the industry in order to find a way to run safe events during these challenging times, events that still offer the magic and connection that is such an important part of Fuinneamh Festival. As soon as things move forward and we are confident that we can safely run events, we will do so.

Ticket holders who hold onto their tickets for Fuinneamh 2021 will be offered first preference to these shows.

We put so much work and love into this year’s show. It was going to be one for the record books, the first ‘Sold Out’ Fuinneamh Festival with our biggest line up to date, alongside all of the immersive design elements we’ve always dreamt of creating!

We had only announced 5% of our line up for 2020. What we had put together for this year was something truly special. So we are happy to announce that all of those plans, and the line up included will still be taking place in 2021.

We would like to give you guys a glimpse of what we had in store for this year and what will now be a part of next years’ line up, so this friday we have decided to announce a couple of the headliners.

Tickets purchased for 2020 will immediately be transferred & are valid for Fuinneamh 2021 and we urge people to hold onto their tickets. We are as it stands 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗗 𝗢𝗨𝗧, with more than twice as many people on the waiting list as tickets sold.

If however you would like to give up your ticket(s) to people who are on the waitlist and avail of a refund, please email tickets@fuinneamh.ie with your order number (you’ll find this on your confirmation email). The deadline to make a request for a refund is September 19th 2020. Any refunds will be issued after September 26th when our ticketing provider allows us to process them. 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: if you give up your ticket to avail of a refund there is no guarantee you will get another for Fuinneamh 2021 or the small gatherings we are planning.

Refunded tickets will be made available to people on the waiting list so check your emails over the coming weeks if you are waiting on a ticket.

Things have gone on a little longer than expected, but that light at the end of the tunnel is still there and it will be brighter than ever as time goes on. We’d like to give you a little glimpse of that light, Fuinneamh is more than just a Festival, it is a community.

We have seen this more than ever online throughout this crisis with peoples’ kind words & endless support. Thank you so much for that. You have been our guiding light through all of this!

We may be postponing this party, but when we make this happen it is going to be the most special Fuinneamh to date.

Fuinneamh Team.
