The events are due to take place at Zenner in Berlin’s Treptow-Koepnick on the 30th of July and 20th of August. The money raised from the events will go towards the volunteering efforts in Ukraine.

Some information regarding Closer and their announcement post from Instagram reads: ‘We are a group of people dancing together and therefore developing electronic music and club scene in Ukraine. We are happy to acknowledge, that for many visitors, dancing, listening and interacting at Closer became literally a life-changing experience in many unique ways, not just an entertainment. Closer has been renowned for its warm atmosphere of mutual respect, sharing and caring.

Today, Closer is doing its best helping Ukraine. Along with this, we were looking for a place to make parties in Berlin. To have a short breath of freedom, to celebrate life, to raise funds for appropriate volunteer organizations in Ukraine, and finally take a few days to care about ourselves and our residents.

And then we found Zenner: a beautiful 200-year-old ballroom house on the bank of the river Spree. Today this place became a concert and cultural venue, but the friendly crew are very much open for hosting us and dancing together, which we are grateful for.’

The parties that will be held at Zenner plan to have a mixture of techno and experimental electronic music acts perform over the course of the two parties. The party set to take place on July 30th include opening live sets from Lobanov K. and Synthap followed by DJ sets from Vera, Alex Savage, Evan Baggs, Vova KLK and more. The August edition currently has Fumiya Tanaka, Timur Basha and Zip announced with more to follow. The parties are set to run from 10pm to the following midday.

Closer have noted that they have taken the time to rethink the current space, improving the sound system, implementing decorations and acknowledging the acoustics of the space in an effort to make the venue as compelling as possible.

The individuals working for Closer were granted permission to travel to Berlin to help organise and throw these parties from Ukraine’s ministry of culture.

Tickets for both events can be found on Resident Advisor here.
