We’re over halfway through the first quarter of 2023 and Irish producers are thriving with a multitude of artists from all across the island releasing music in various format. The list spans various genres, moods and atmospheres giving an exhaustive look into Irish electronic music in 2023 thus far.

Pagan – By Design [PGN]

Pagan kicks off his PGN imprint with some trance infused techno, that runs high on emotion, but doesn’t cut back on rough edged power. This release signifies a new era of production style from the Donegal native, showcasing some hard hitting ethereal techno.

Tyvion Valentine – OLAY [Part 4 Records]

Tyvion Valentine steps up to Part 4 Records for his first release of the year with his new single OLAY. A deep-house roller that simmers alongside sizzling breakbeats, bouncing bass & future-garage style vocals. A lush first offering for 2023 from the Dublin producer.

New Jackson – Sanyo Shinkansen (Ft. ELLLL & Lumigraph Remixs) [Apartment Records]

Apartment Records returns with its first all-Irish record in 5 years and New Jackson’s first full release for the label featuring remixes from ELLLL & Lumigraph. The Dublin label provides a forward-facing look into Irish house and techno, providing an array of jazz inspired nuances and off-kilter drum rhythms. ELLLL’s growling bass remix leaves a murky flavour on an otherwise rather glossy release.

CULT & Dylan Fogarty Present: True or False

Two of Ireland’s most promising techno producers in the world of 90’s inspired rhythms CULT & Dylan Fogarty team up for a juggernaut of an EP that references early Drumcode records to devastating effect. No bullshit loop driven grooves, that remain effortlessly funky yet unapologetically ravey.

GAFFA – Blast Master [Concrete Berlin]

Lost collective resident GAFFA joins Concrete Berlin for his debut EP which see’s the promising producer flex his hardcore muscles on a gabber tinged EP. GAFFA’s debut EP on the Berlin based label is a statement of intent for his new alias – no breaks, hard as nails and rave soaked bangers.

MAV666 X Shannen Blessing – Tell Me [Self Release]

MAV666 & Shannen Blessing continue their impressive streak of collaborative releases with another offering via Techno Germany. The pair’s frequent B2B’s and releases together have formed a tongue-in-cheek style sound that is both bouncy & ghetto immersed while remaining throughly hard-hitting. Their new one Tell Me combines trance elements with slick vocal work for a fun-loving dancefloor tool.

Shee – Get Up and Get Loose EP [Edible Records]

Shee‘s most recent release is possibly his biggest to date. A two-track EP on the mighty Edible label run by Eats Everything. The Limerick native demonstrates his unrivalled ability to churn out top-tier disco-infused house music, which has earned backing from Boiler Room, Radio 1 among others.

Havik – Sumatra EP [Intra Records]

Havik has been on our radar for quite some time, and his debut on Intra Records is a prime example of what the young producer is capable. Following in the footsteps of some of Europes most exciting new techno artists Havik puts his front froward in the world of loop driven & groove focussed techno. Four tracks of scorching techno funk that are both polished and crackling in the finest way.

OAKLEE – Back Against The Wall [Sounds of Lava Lava]

OAKLEE debuts on Sounds of Lava Lava with four sublime house cuts. His Back Against The Wall EP serves as his debut release under his OAKLEE alias, which focuses on fine tuned house rhythms. Aaron’s first EP under his monarch intertwines club-focussed elements, resonant bass lines, deep grooves and delicate melodies.

Infiltrator – Freeload EP [Disintegrated]

Erik Burka‘s Disintegrated label has had a strong start to 2023 and it continued its good run of releases with an EP from Barcelona based producer and DJ Infiltrator, with remixes coming from Jon10 & Freeman. Early 00’s inspired shuffling techno cuts that array from catchy rave nuances to wired & deranged synth bangers. A strong offering from Infiltaror backed by impressive remixes.
