We’ve compiled a list of 10 new Irish releases that you absolutely need to in your life from some of our best grass roots producers on the Isle of Ireland. Music from Ôneyra ,George Feely, High Fidelity, Infiltrator, Gash Collective & more.

There’s been a massive surge in Irish electronic music releases within recent months and the amount of quality coming from our little island is quite staggering. We run through a fraction of what’s been on our radar and picked some of the leading new releases from Irish artists within recent time.

Ôneyra – Diamond [Hardest Soft]

Berlin based Ôneyra‘s first release of the year come courtesy of Berlin-based techno label Hardest Soft for their instalment of their VA series. The former Altered States boss showcases a finely crafted slice of textured techno, as she creates an eerie piece of dancefloor focussed techno. Jagged drones play across psy influenced rhythms and awry percussion hits for an expertly designed fragment of Ôneyra’s vision of techno.

George Feely – Don Johnson EP [Permanent Vacation]

Death, taxes and top-tier house music from George Feely are certainties in this life. The Dublin native features on Munich based label Permanent Vacation with a 2 track EP that is bursting with breezy piano power. It’s big festival vibes on this one as George runs through 90’s style athematic house with flashes of italo nuances.

High Fidelity – Catchin A Case [Strictly Strictly]

High Fidelity joins the Strictly Strictly crew with one of his most anticipated releases yet ‘Catchin A Case’ which notably aired on fellow Irish electro artist Ngoni Egan‘s Boiler Room at Glitch Festival. The young producer calls on a quivering bassline to play over a forceful electro groove alongside a devastating vocal loop and soaring lead synth.

Infiltrator – Function [Self Release]

Barcelona based Infiltrator has been on flying form in 2023, unleashing a string of funk-driven techno tracks. His latest offering ‘Function’ does just what it says on the tin as he locks in a tight and functional groove that is reminiscent of early Bas Mooy tracks as it exudes flavour from his previous label ARMS. Powerful, effortlessly funky and effective.

Erik Burka – Identity Crisis EP [Otium District]

Staying on a funk focussed techno tip with a fresh EP from Disintegrated boss Erik Burka as he debuts on Otium District with a six track EP accompanied with remixes from The Chronics, Rodig & DJ SUN. The EP see’s Erik focus on sun soaked techno as he keeps the tracks light and playful with glistening chord stabs and flirtatious vocal hooks, whilst still clutching onto breakneck style hardgroove drums.

VA – GASH TRAX VOL​​​.​​​2 [Gash Collective]

Gash Collective released their second VA with music from E The Artist, Roo Honeychild, sweet philly and more. The VA shines a light on minority artists based in Ireland and the 10 track collection is the perfect depiction of the collectives ideologies as they showcase an array of off-kilter experiments alongside club ready bangers.

VA – Listen & See [Aduaine]

The first offering from the Dublin based label Aduaine dropped last month with a 6 track debut from label-heads Barry Greaves, Peter Sweeney, and Stephen Donaldson. The label wants to promote a diverse focus on electronic music from Irish artists, inviting producers to explore deeper & more left-field sides of their production. The first release ranges from acid steeped electro, full-tilt IDM experiments and cathartic EBM modulations.

Jack Nolan – Tredicim [Syncopated Records]

A rising star within the world of intricate hypnotic techno Jack Nolan debut’s on his own imprint Syncopated Records which he co-runs with Billy Spike Illand. The Tredicim EP focuses on eccentric percussion driven techno that finds comfort in the darker corners of the dancefloor. Snarling bass grooves, snappy drum work-outs and textured hooks are running deep though this EP.

PROZAK – Ras EP [Shall Not Fade]

Prozak holds down the Dublin City UKG thrown and for very good reason, his relentless release schedule of finely crafted two-step grooves is second to none. The young-gun arrives back on Shall Not Fade for his third instalment of EP’s on the label as he boasts another 4 track EP ripe with bass-heavily goodness. Menacingly filthy bass growls and funked up drum fills are on full display here.

babystar – stray light [Self Release]

Matt Finnegan better known as Plus One recently announced his new monarch babystar which focuses on misty soundscapes. The 8 track album shows the Dublin based artist once again proving his exceptional range as he ditches ruthless drum breaks for delicate beatless reworks, putting an ethereal spin on a range of well-known anthems. The ‘Seek Romance’ edit is particularly lush.
