We asked, and you delivered. We’ve compiled a list of the seven bonafide summer anthems that have soundtracked the Irish festival season thus far, as chosen by Four Four Magazine readers.

We’ve reached the halfway point of the Irish festival season 2024, and we’ve seen some juggernaut events take place from the beginning of summer to the present, including Forbidden Fruit, Beyond The Pale, Open Ear, and Longitude, to name a few, as well as a busy club calendar over the last few months, with Pride Weekend being a highlight.

We present the seven tracks that have soundtracked campsites, dancefloors, parks, tents, canals, and more, as chosen by Four Four Magazine readers.

Charli XCX – 365 [Atlantic Records]

We were always going to start with Charli XCX, weren’t we? The only word that comes to mind when we think of summer 2024, Brat. 365 is the party girl anthem; Charli’s vocals over a squelching acid line is the definition of an anthem.

Diffrent – A Little Closer [Club Heart Broken]

It’s been nearly impossible to avoid this UK-kissed anthem from Berlin-based Diffrent, and for a good reason: it has everything you need from an ultimate rave weapon. Hoover? Check. Slamming 909 workout? Check. Irresistible vocal line? Check. Organ? Most definitely check. If this isn’t playing in the 2024 reeling in the years, we’ve done something wrong.

DART & Kyle Starkey – Dance N Move [RAPID TRAX]

Homegrown hero DART collaborated with rising UK producer Kyle Starkey to launch his Dublin-based imprint, RAPID TRAX. The two-track EP has been in heavy rotation all summer, with Dance N Move particularly burning dancefloors around the world as well as being a domestic favourite in Ireland. If Job Jobse is playing your music, it is officially an anthem.

KETTAMA – Pretty Green Eyes (Sunset Ibiza Mix)

Galway hero KETTAMA’s anthem ‘Pretty Green Eyes’ has been tearing up festivals and clubs for the past three months. Despite only receiving an official release last month, KETTAMA and other DJs have been rinsing this one all over the world. PGE is yet another contemporary classic to join KETTAMA’s list of revered productions.

Joy Orbison – flight fM [XL Recordings]

Joy Orbison being Joy Orbison, he released arguably one of the most talked-about tracks of the year in January, and this one has held its own over the course of 2024, remaining a go-to dancefloor destroyer all summer.

Plus One – Bonk [Ar Ais Arís]

North Dublin native, Plus One’s track ‘Bonk’, released by Galway-based Ar Ais Arís, has been a hit at festivals and club shows in Ireland, with support from Ben UFO and Four Tet. This is a strong contender for track of the year.

Fatima Yamaha – What’s A Girl To Do (Luvstruck Edit)

It’s 2024, and we’re still talking about Fatima Yamaha’s ‘What’s A Girl To Do’. Luvstruck gave the seminal house track a proper trance and hardhouse remix, resulting in the ultimate festival track suitable for the rapidly soaring BPMs of 2024. This is ecstasy-glazed peaktime euphoria.
