Cork queer club night Milk celebrates its second birthday at Dali on October 3rd, returning to the venue where it all began two years ago with a night of boundary-pushing music, drag and community.

A stronghold of Cork’s queer club scene, Milk is celebrating its second birthday this October, a milestone for a party born out of frustration with the lack of diversity within the city’s club culture. From the beginning, Milk has set out to create a space for queers and allies, while putting queer talent in the spotlight.

The party returns to Dali on October 3rd, the very venue where Milk hosted its first party two years ago and a space that has since become a home for the club night and its community. Marking two years of parties, dancing and memories, the birthday celebration will be soundtracked by residents Wolfgirl, Maevuss and Acid Dave.

Milk’s identity has always been rooted in a DIY, no-frills ethos, with a music policy that refuses to sit neatly in one box. High-octane house and trance sit alongside leftfield bass and breaks, drawing a crowd that arrives with an open mind and leaves with a full heart.

Drag has also been central to Milk’s identity, with the party consistently welcoming Cork’s drag performers and wider drag community into its events. By bringing DJs, dancers, drag artists and queer communities together under one roof, Milk has created a multifaceted space that extends beyond the dancefloor, one where different corners of Cork’s queer community can come together, celebrate and take up space.
