Dublin just got a badly needed shot of good news: a brand new late-night basement club space is opening in the city centre.
Introducing Chez Spice at Kaldero, a no-door-charge, music-led, vinyl-only, proper late-night venue landing at a time when Dublin has lost more clubs than it’s gained.
The team behind Bahay and Kaldero, fresh off their inclusion in The Irish Times Top 100 Restaurants of 2025 and Hot Press’ Best of Dublin, are flipping their award-winning restaurant every Friday and Saturday after service.
At 10pm sharp, the lights lower, the tables move, and the South King Street basement transforms into a new home for house music. At a moment when Dublin’s clubbing landscape feels squeezed, shuttered and short on options, Chez Spice is a genuine cultural win.
“Night-time venues aren’t just entertainment,” says co-founder Alex O’Neill. “They’re where people meet, collaborate, get ideas, and build the creative fabric of the city. When you lose venues, you lose part of the city’s identity.”
Opening Weekend:
- Fri 28 Nov: Launch night with Richie Castillo + guests
- Sat 29 Nov: All-night session with Irish house legend TR One
