Belfast welcomes a new dancefloor this St. Patrick’s Day, with Scottish techno duo Clouds set to christen it.

Industry has announced a full venue takeover of the Common Market Belfast, located in the former Arnotts fruit warehouse on Dunbar Street.

The two-storey, 870-square-metre venue has evolved into one of the city’s most flexible social spaces. Since receiving approval for live music and entertainment, Common Market has become a bustling street-food hall by day and an increasingly attractive events space by night. This St. Patrick’s Day, Industry aim to unlock its full potential as a dedicated dancefloor.

The crew has enlisted production specialists Visual Spectrum to install a full custom lighting and sound system designed specifically for the venue. Organisers say the goal is to position Common Market as one of Belfast’s premier event spaces, highlighting its capabilities as a large-scale electronic music venue.

The party is in capable hands. Industry launched in 2018 from the team behind the long-running Belfast party series OCD Fridays and Printroom. Their concept was simple: take over unconventional venues on key dates throughout the year and transform them into large-scale club environments. Over the past eight years, the crew has built a reputation for doing exactly that.

Previous Industry takeovers have reimagined spaces across the city, including Art Department Belfast, Aether & Echo, Folk Town Belfast, The Bone Yard Belfast, The Palm House Belfast, and Ulster Sports Club.

Industry has previously welcomed 999999999, DART, DJ Boring, Faster Horses, Holly Lester, KETTAMA, Neffa-T, Partiboi69, Skin on Skin, Yasmin Gardezi, to name a few.

This St. Patrick’s Day, Common Market steps into that legacy, ready to be christened as Belfast’s newest hub for electronic music.
