Belfast institution Crilli DNB celebrates two decades at the forefront of drum & bass culture, cementing its status as one of the country’s longest-running parties, with a special 20th anniversary event at Ulster Sports Club on Saturday 31 January, featuring hometown hero Calibre alongside legendary MC, SP:MC.
Founded in a back bar in Bangor, County Down, Crilli has spent the past 20 years shaping drum & bass culture in the North of Ireland, consistently championing alternative tempos and sounds while introducing some of jungle and DNB’s most influential names to Belfast.
An event of this magnitude calls for a legendary artist and hometown hero, Calibre. A true drum & bass champion, he has released 24 albums since the turn of the century, alongside countless singles, EPs and remixes. In recent years, collaborations and releases connected to figures like Craig Richards have highlighted another side of his output, spanning broken beat, downtempo house and dubstep, further broadening an already expansive catalogue.
Joining him is SP:MC, one of the UK’s most respected and in-demand MCs. Equally accomplished as a producer across garage, dubstep and DNB, SP:MC has long been a trusted host for many of Crilli’s favourite DJs.
Crilli residents Rory Rudimentary and PMCC round out the bill, covering all bass-driven bases for what’s set to be a landmark night for drum & bass fans in the north.
