Max HeyraudBelfast’s newest addition to the summer calendar, Steelworks Festival, has revealed the second wave of artists set to join its debut edition this June.
Set against the industrial backdrop of Titanic Distillers in the city’s docklands, the festival is positioning itself as a club-focused, underground alternative. With its latest announcement, Steelworks doubles down on that ethos.
Berlin duo and SPANDAU label bosses FJAAK lead the new additions, bringing their signature high-octane techno sound to Belfast. They’re joined by STUM, whose stripped-back, groove-laden sound has been gaining traction across Europe, as well as rising Irish talent, and Ireland’s “schranz queen”, Sophie Reid.
Rounding out the second phase are Pinot G and Davenport, adding to an already expansive local lineup supporting the new wave of homegrown talent.
The programming is a conscious nod to club culture, not big-stage spectacle. Organisers have leaned into the docklands venue’s character to craft an industrial, close-quarters experience.
Steelworks Festival has also hinted that more names are still to come, with “a couple more surprises” yet to be revealed in the lead-up to its first edition.
