Berlin nightclub Renate has secured a lease extension at its current location, ensuring the club will continue operating beyond the end of 2025.

In a statement released yesterday, the club confirmed that an agreement was reached on Tuesday, December 16th, following months of uncertainty about its future. The news comes after Renate had begun preparations to end operations, making the announcement a significant reversal for the long-running venue.

Renate has also announced it will temporarily close after its planned New Year’s Eve celebrations. The club said the decision was made to allow time to regroup and plan its next phase following the late confirmation of the lease agreement.

“Getting this news at a time when we were in the final stages of ending operations is the best news we could ask for,” the statement read. “However, since clarity on our future came at such short notice, we need to take some time to reset, regroup and carefully plan our next steps.”

While specific details about programming and reopening dates have not yet been confirmed, the club stated that Renate will continue in 2026 and described the pause as a chance to enter a “new phase with full energy.”
