The Bernard Shaw is launching a two-day Block Party, kicking things off with electronic royalty and uniting legendary UK selectors and local heroes for a weekend of day-to-night chaos.

The Bernard Shaw is throwing its first-ever Block Party, and they’ve invited UK dance music royalty to help set it off. On August 16th, this new day-to-night party is bringing some of the most important figures in contemporary electronic music to Phibsborough.

Acid house pioneer A Guy Called Gerald (Live), one half of the legendary duo Orbital (Phil Hartnoll), and one half of Optimo (Espacio) are all on the bill, making it one of the strongest lineups of foundational, UK-dance music Dublin’s seen in a minute.

Things kick off at the newly revamped Eatyard with a free daytime party headlined by Optimo, alongside Bodytonic and Subject DJs. Tickets are free but required for entry.

As night falls, the music moves inside with A Guy Called Gerald taking over the basement with a live set, while Phil Hartnoll (Orbital) on the main floor.

From 10PM, it’s ticket-only, €20 gets you access to both night sets. Tickets are live here, with more names still to be announced.
