After a meeting this morning, the Cabinet have decided to postpone or cancel all major sporting events, concerts and gatherings of 5000 people and over.

In the latest update from the Cabinet and Government, all major events and gatherings in Ireland are now set to be postponed until Autumn, meaning August / September at the very earliest. It is understood this will apply to gatherings of 5000 people or more.

This is a massive blow coming up to festival season, with many due to be affected by this decision, however public health and saving lives has to come first as it did with this unfortunate news.
