The venue announced the news on social media on 19th August, revealing that the current management team’s tenure will conclude after a final run of events.

Club 69, the long-running Paisley basement venue, is set to close its doors on Saturday 10th October, bringing the current chapter of one of Scotland’s most storied underground clubs to an end after 37 years in operation.

The statement described the club as a “passion project” for the current management, adding: “It’s time for a fresh chapter to begin. A change is on the horizon.”

While October’s closure currently appears to mark the end, the announcement leaves the door open for what might come next. The management team has invited anyone interested in continuing the project to get in touch via an enquiry form, suggesting that this may not necessarily be the final chapter for the venue itself.

For now, though, Club 69 is preparing to make the most of its final weeks. The club thanked its staff, DJs, suppliers, behind-the-scenes crew and, above all, the ravers who have supported it along the way.
