Max HeyraudDublin Digital Radio (ddr.) is celebrating a decade of independent broadcasting with a two-day weekender at FLUX Studios on October 31 and November 1, bringing together DJs, live performances, broadcasts and workshops to kick off a year of anniversary activity for the Irish community station.
Founded in 2016, ddr. began broadcasting from a small studio at cultural venue Jigsaw before moving to The Complex and eventually settling at FLUX in Dublin 8. Over the past decade, the station has championed experimental and leftfield music while providing a platform for local artists, DJs and creatives.
The anniversary lineup includes Donal Dineen, The Love Hour, Heatwerk, Afrogrunk and R.Kitt, alongside b2bs from Ly and Governess, Grevs and Elastic Witch, Oisín and Nina, and Fleeting Devotion and Saturn Returns. Seersucker, School Tour and Famous Tex will perform live, with a listening lounge featuring A New Forest, Kate Butler, Deer(Adio) and Age of Love x Tracks from the Racks.
The weekend will also feature rolling broadcasts, an open studio, talks, a vinyl record fair, a creative print workshop and a yard and gallery party. With more than 100 active residents, ddr. remains entirely volunteer-run and funded through member subscriptions, with no corporate sponsorship. “It’s going to be a big reunion and a window into what ddr. has meant to people,” says volunteer Laetitia Deering.
Tickets are €15 plus a booking fee, with a substantial free programme across both days. The event takes place at FLUX Studios, Chatham Row, Dublin 2, with tickets available via Resident Advisor and ddr.’s website.
