13–14 Dame Court, the five-storey Victorian red-brick building that housed the late-night venue until its closure in 2017, is being offered to occupiers on a long lease by owner Quanta Capital. Real estate investor Mel Sutcliffe’s firm has appointed CBRE’s hotel division to secure an operator for the property.
Odessa was once one of Dublin’s better-known private members’ clubs, restaurants and late-night venues. Its closure left the prominent city-centre site without a major nightlife operator. The building sits just off Exchequer Street and South Great George’s Street, in one of Dublin’s busiest hospitality areas.
The redevelopment plans should maintain the building’s hospitality focus, with a rooftop bar and restaurant forming part of the proposed boutique hotel scheme. The addition could bring a new late-night attraction to the former Odessa site, albeit in a more upscale hotel setting than its previous life.
While a hotel operator has yet to be confirmed, the property is being specifically marketed for boutique hotel use, suggesting its next chapter is more likely to involve bedrooms than dancefloors.
