For the second year running, the exciting Yurt City Festival has been postponed due to Covid. It was always going to be touch and go this summer, but due to all the uncertainty with Covid and the Delta variant, the safety of course has to come first.

The debut Yurt City in 2019 year went off with a bang, with acts like Dan Shake, Boots & Kats, Bellaire, DJ Boring, Cromby and Folamour pleasing the crowds and setting the bar for future Yurt City events. The high end production, the perfect location and list of the hottest names in house and disco got everyone eager to see what year two could offer. Sadly, as we’re all well aware, 2020 was wiped out due to Covid, and now, sadly 2021 has also been forced to reschedule.

The Yurt City statement:

Firstly, it is with a heavy heart that we are announcing that Yurt City will be moving to August 2022. We have held on for as long as possible and our team has been working constantly to have provisions in place to provide some level of safe camping festival experience for you this summer, however, with the uncertainty surrounding covid restrictions and the rise of the Delta variant it has now become clear it is not possible.

For those who rolled over your tickets, these will be automatically rolled over again to 2022. Also, as a special thank you to those who hang in there with us you will receive a FREE guestlist ticket in addition to the one you’ve held to bring who you wish to next year’s event.

As an independent promoter, we ask that you hold tight and support us just this little bit longer and we promise the celebration out the back of this will be worth the wait. However, if you still require a refund, please email yurtcityrefunds@gmail.com and someone from our team will be in touch over the coming week. If you wish to hang onto your ticket you do not need to do anything it will automatically roll over.

For those who purchased tickets to 2020 and received a refund, please keep an eye on your email as you will receive a special discount deal on 2022 tickets soon as we all desperately need the sense of togetherness that a festival provides.

While this event has been rescheduled for 2022, the Yurt City crew does have some good news, as they are set to host the Yurt City ‘New Beginnings’ event, which is very limited in its capacity, due to it being a socially distant event.

We are, however delighted to announce that due to the support of Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media we are in a position to run ‘Yurt City: New Beginnings’ a very limited capacity socially distant event on August 14th at Joe Lee’s Tullamore. This allows us to get some of our djs, crew, technical team, event managers, security teams and traders some much needed work and purpose.

The lineup includes Boots & Kats, Yasmin Gardezi, Kaycee, Arman Gorgio, Bedlam DJs and Alex Flood. Tickets for the event are extremely limited and available in pods of 4.

Tickets are awarded on a lottery basis you can register with your email on our website here to be in with a chance of winning.
