Fuinneamh Festival open’s it’s gates this Saturday for it’s biggest edition of the festival yet, and with over 150 acts playing across two days the festival boasts a star-studded of local and international talent. We take a look at some of the must see local heroes playing over at Fuinneamh 2023.

Fuinneamh Festival right around the corner as the two-day festival prepares to open it’s gates for it’s best iteration yet. The festival is stacked with a number of high profile international talent across Saturday and Sunday this weekend, but as always the spirit of Fuinneamh is embodied by the local talent that will inhabit the festival this weekend. We take a look at some must see acts playing at this years Fuinneamh, as we cover exciting festival debuts, through to Fuinneamh regular’s, and more.

High Fidelity

High Fidelity joins Fuinneamh for the first time this Sunday as he brings the sun down at the Keep Her Lit stage with his ghetto laced brand of pounding electro. Known for championing a contemporary electro sound that is steeped in Miami bass power and slippery Detroit weirdness, the young DJ and producer is a forced to be reckoned with behind a set of decks.

Efa O’Neill

Efa O’Neill remains one of Ireland’s most authoritative modern day selectors that exhibits every asset a first-class DJ should have, from razor tight mixing skills, an extensive knowledge of club focussed music, and the ability to send a crowd into a frenzy at the drop of a hat. Having recently played AVA’s coveted Boiler Room, Electric Picnic’s Anachronica stage and G-Town Fest to name a few, you know you’re in safe hands with Efa behind the wheel.

MAV666 B2B Shannen Blessing

MAV666 & Shannen Blessing lock arms once again as they bring their high-octane booty brand of techno to Fuinneamh Festival. The pairing have become festival favourites over the course of the last year, playing across BD Festival, Outset Festival, Life Festival and more, captivating crowds with their tongue n cheek style of groove focussed techno. Both DJs have a deep love for techno, and their collections go deep, expect the unexpected, but most of all expect to have your hips shaking from the off.

Dylan Fogarty

There’s not much that hasn’t been said about Dublin’s prince of techno, Dylan Fogarty. The young maestro is running off the back of an impressive Hör debut, alongside a slew of high-profile gigs across Europe. Expect relentless rolling bass grooves, as Dylan shows shades of ghetto, minimal, hardgroove, and more. A competent DJ on three decks, Dylan’s appetite for non-stop mixing and layering puts him in a league of his own. Get ready for the funk phenomenon.

Chaz Moloney [Live Set]

Sionna Festival boss Chaz Moloney bring’s his new live set to Fuinneamh on Saturday. Having recently debuted his live set in him hometown of Limerick its time he brings it on the road as he returns to Fuinneamh. Backed with hard-edged drum workouts and intricate FM synths, the seasoned producer aims to bring a breathe of fresh air to Fuinneamh, as he holds down one of the only live sets at the festival. We can only assume Moloney will have a fresh batch of sounds armed and ready as he fires up his machines for a definitive moment in his career as he debut’s his live set at Fuinneamh.

Erik Burka B2B Jon10

Two of Ireland’s most exciting young DJs and producers specialising in hardgroove orientated techno go toe to toe at Fuinneamh’s new Orion stage. Erik Burka and Jon10 are heavily inspired by techno from the 90’s and early 00’s from label’s such as Drumcode, CLR, Conform and more, the pairing will bring a vintage style of pounding grooves that will be reminiscent of the golden era of club culture. With both DJs having a strong catalogue of previous gigs playing alongside Lars Huismann, Alarico, Faster Horses, Bad Boombox, and more.

Cáit

Resident DJ at Radiant Love & Dip, Cáit is one of the most revered selector’s on the Isle of Ireland. Known for her eclectic taste that spans across high-powered house, funk-laced techno, hardhouse, prog and more, the Dublin based DJ has been a favourite at Fuinneamh for some time. Having played a standout stage at the Keep Her Lit stage in 2022, Cáit now features on the Ogham Alignment stage setting the tone for the Sunday as she unleashes her dancefloor focussed arsenal of dynamic rolling rhythms.

Aeron XTC

Fuinneamh booker and resident Aeron XTC steps away from his annual Sunday night closing set to play a peak-time set on the Ogham Alignment on Saturday night as he hands over to DJ Heartstring. The seasoned DJ is about as trust worthy as they come behind a set of decks, and his sharp ear for striking techno grooves has seen him play alongside Dave Clarke, Fjaak, Karenn, Paula Temple, Regis, to name a few. The God of slaughter always packs something special for Fuinneamh, and this should be no different.

Lucas Ogma

Fuinneamh owner Luke Reddy better known under his techno monarch Lucas Ogma, plays the illustrious Saturday night closing on the Ogham Alignment, a stage his designed and built with his own two hands. Lucas is the very essence and embodiment of Fuinneamh, and his deep & driving brand of dub techno has been the soundtrack of Fuinneamh since it’s inception. Known for playing set’s totally comprised of original works, the Fuinneamh boss brings a symphony of wandering chord stabs and pummelling kick drum to his very own stage.

Cailín

Waterford based Cailín plays her first closing set at Fuinneamh this Sunday following a number of years gracing the independent festival. Cailín will soundtrack the final hours of Fuinneamh 2023 with her hard-edged brand of punishing techno rhythms. With a number of techno accolades behind her belt including two Boiler Room appearances, a Slam Radio Mix, a release on Ben Sim’s Symbolism label, as well as high praise from Dave Clarke, Cailín is an easy choice to succeed the closing set from Aeron XTC. Wether Cailín sends dancers home in body bags or with smiles plastered across their battered faces is yet to be scene, but be ready for destruction.
