Four Four take charge of selecting the an all star techno lineup for the Forest Stage at the BD Festival, following their takeover of the Anachronica Stage at Electric Picnic.
Joining the already expansive lineup for this years festival is 999999999, Riot Code, Aero B2B Sam Greenwood, Taint B2B Aeron XTC, Shannen Blessing B2B MAV666, Milo Spykers, MELTX & Billy Spike Iland.
Italian duo 999999999 are one of the most sought after pairings in the world of high-octane acid techno. The duo’s live set is known throughout the world of techno as a vicious and distorting trip though acid and rave symphonies. The duo are favourites to the Irish crowd, and always bring the energy when the arrive on Irish shores.
RIOT CODE will share the lineup with the the iconic power giants 9999999999, following releasing on their imprint NineTimesNine. The pairings ability to bring an undeniably rapturous energy is undeniable and following the announcement of an Australian tour along with various show’s across the UK we imagine they’ll be a ferocious energy with them.
Aero B2B Sam Greenwood
Both Aero and Sam Greenwood have enjoyed busy years with gigs across Ireland, multiple releases and curating some of Ireland’s sought after techno parties respectively. The pairing have been busy playing together at Life Festival, SULT in Galway, Index & a notable all night long set at Cellar. Known for their love of all things fast, funky and banging, dancers can expected pounding rhythms from the get go.
Research Label head honcho’s Taint & Aeron XTC have shared a similarly busy few months, as the pairing have been showcasing some of Ireland’s most abrasive techno parties across Dublin city, as well as DJing frequently up and down the country. From Life Festival, Fuinneamh Festival, Electric Picnic, the Dublin based selectors have been showcasing their expansive knowledge of techno in every corner of our emerald isle. Expect the unexpected as the long-time B2B partners join forces once again.
Shannen Blessing & MAV666 have become festival and club favourites throughout 2022, showcasing their infectious brand of bouncing and rolling techno. Slick mixing skills, bold selections and a great understanding of each others selection makes this b2b pairing one to be reckoned with. A string of self releases, guest-mixes and appearances on Hör Radio respectively, have shot both Shannen & MAV into the spotlight of rising techno stars.
Exhale resident Milo Spykers has had a meteoric rise within the last few years. The Belgian DJ & producer has been touring across the globe and making appearances at some of the most sought after events in dance music. Recent appearances at Awakenings, Tomorrowland, Hï Ibiza and more have showcased Milo’s trademark sound of smouldering techno across to the masses.
MELTX
MELTX has been rising through the ranks of the techno scene in Ireland in recent times. Championing a fast and raw techno sound, MELTX has found herself on support duties for SPFDJ, FJAAK, Reinier Zonneveld, as well as playing at Fuinneamh, Boxed Off and more. The Limerick native has also released a number of high profile edits and self releases which have been met to great acclaim. The youngster will be showcasing her forceful style of techno at the forrest stage this Sunday.
Syncopated boss man Billy Spike Iland will be in charge of opening up the forrest, as he showcases his stripped back and groove focussed vision of techno. Billy has been busy playing across Dublin city this year, becoming a regular at Bow Lane & Cellar as well as making his Index main room debut a few weeks back. The Dublin youngster hones in on a deep and driving style of techno that is derived from classic Detroit and Berlin subsonic territories. Having released on Common Sense Records and Oni Recordings among others, we can expect to hear some of Billy’s clean cut techno productions in the forrest this Sunday.
