The highly anticipated debut edition of Otherside Festival arrives in just under three weeks, and we are bursting with excitement. The festival will host an array of thrilling international acts, but as always were eager to take a closer look at their stacked local lineup of Irish acts.

Otherside Festival boasts an eclectic and broad spanning lineup of acts for it’s debut edition this July 8th – 10th. The inaugural edition will host a forward thinking lineup of music which encompasses a whole host of genres, as the festival soundtrack spans through, house, techno, minimal, breaks, disco, trad, punk, indie, hip-hop and everything in between.

The festival lyes on the fringes of the famous Slane castle, a mere 40 minute drive from Dublin. Spreading beneath a canopy of native forests and through the iconic meadows of the Boyne Valley, Rock Farm is a lush playground for our intimate gathering.

We take a look at some of the local acts that caught our eye on the Otherside Festival lineup.

R. Kitt

To kick off our list of local act’s, is one of the most coveted producers, DJs and live act’s to emerge from Ireland ever, Robbie Kitt aka R. Kitt. From AVA Boiler Room to Hör Berlin, to releases on R & S & Dansu Discs, R. Kitt has a dance music CV that simply boasts legendary status. You can expect everything from ambient, garage, jungle, house, classic rave and so much more as he graces Otherside Festival next month.

George Feely

Next up on our list is Dublin funk purveyor George Feely, who has been blazing a trail of house music gold as of late. George has been one of the most consistent house & disco DJs in Ireland for the last decade, but in recent times George has stepped it up a notch with releases coming on Hot Haus Records, Nervous Records, Unknown To Unknown and many more. George recently had Detroit don Terrence Parker on remix duties for his latest EP, so you know your in safe hands if George has got the Detroit stamp of approval.

Long Island Sound

One of Ireland’s most sought after duo’s Long Island Sound touch down at Otherside Festival to serenade ravers with an assortment of smokey breakbeats, trance soaked synth lines and electro grooves. The pair have been busy in the studio with releases on Remmah, Body Fusion and Fabric Presents compilations and a recent debut album on their Signs Of Space imprint. The Dublin duo’s DJ set’s are packed with uplifting euphoric energy, and we can’t wait for it.

Melodic

Next up is long running promoters Melodic, who will supply a selection of melodic and progressive treats as their residents take the stage. Melody driven dance music in the sunshine sounds like bliss as you dance in nature. Melodic have been responsible for hosting an array of esteemed names including; Ian Pooley, Lee Burridge, Guy J, Nick Warren and many more, so this is bound to be guaranteed quality.

Nixer

Our favourite new wave duo Nixer will throw down and Otherside Festival, and we expect their performance to be rather special. The pair have been rather busy since festival season kicked off, and they return to Dublin after a packed schedule throughout the UK. Come prepared for an energetic performance packed with screeching vocals, jarring bass and drifting melodies.

Sarah Mooney

Festival regular Sarah Mooney arrives at Otherside Festival with an expansive knowledge of all things deep, progressive and melodic. Having featured on lineups with heavy hitters such as Dubfire, Dense & Pika, Paul Woolford, Slam and more, Sarah is the ideal candidate to get your hips moving at Otherside Festival.

Bella Festa

One of Dublin’s funkiest parties and collectives Bella Festa will bring a flurry of italo sounds to Otherside Festival. Bella festa is a celebration of all things Italo Disco, Synth Pop, and Cosmic sounds from all eras and galaxies, as well as a celebration of all things Italo Disco. Just on the back of DJ sets at Beyond The Pale and Body and Soul, the pair are well ready to bring the groove to Otherside Festival.

Boots & Kats

Without a doubt one of Ireland’s favourite festival acts Boots & Kats will showcase their classic house and disco brand at the debut edition of Otherside Festival. The pair are on the back of a massive set at Life Festival and will continue to bring the good vibes straight to Meath next month. Expect an array of house anthems, disco delights and acidy cuts as the pair bring the party next month.

Jordan Nocturne

Nocturne label boss man Jordan Nocturne is one of Ireland’s prime house selectors, having graced legendary venues and festivals such as AVA, Subclub, Junction 2 and many more. The Belfast native has also seen massive support coming from Gerd Janson, Pete Tong, Erol Alkan and many more. House, disco, italo, electro, techno.. you name it, Jordan’s packing it all for Otherside Festival.

Ricky Chong

One of the biggest breakthrough acts of 2022 has to be Ricky Chong. The Sligo natives name is on the tip of everyone’s tongue and for all the right reasons. Having an extensive knowledge of all things house, disco, funk, jazz and more.. Ricky is the ideal candidate to keep the dance floor moving. After a superb set at Life Festival, we expect Ricky to bring the heat once again at Otherside Festival.
