First up is your favourite DJs favourite DJ, Collie, as the Dubliner shares 5 dancefloor gems from glitchy bleep techno through to sun-soaked Baeleric anthems.

Ballymun native Collie embodies what it means to be a DJs, DJ. The trusty selector is a chameleon-style DJ who is an encyclopedia of club music and knows the Dublin crowd better than any other selector on the circuit right now. There isn’t a hallowed dancefloor in the capital that Collie hasn’t played and in recent times his gigging schedule has been as hectic as they come, yet the shrewd selector hasn’t let a loaded programme dilute his work ethic, in fact, it seems quite the opposite. A persistently fresh bag of rare grooves and a set of skills that cross through inspirations from hip-hop, house, techno, and trance make him one of the most impactful and versatile DJs on the Isle of Ireland.

With a decorated CV of shows that has seen the local hero play alongside some of the most esteemed DJs in the game from Armand Van Helden, Sven Vath, DJ Assault, Floorplan and more. This revered back catalogue of club shows hasn’t stopped Collie from throwing down a masterclass in your local midweek haunt on a Thursday night – a true testament to a man who simply oozes determination and passion for the craft.

Collie selects his 5 essential festival cuts ahead of his return to BD Festival.

Plus One – We Out Here [First Second Label]

Deep, raw baseline dungeon food. This one puts the subs of any sound system through its paces, Perfect for those massive festival rigs. This one could be played anywhere in a set. Preferably a long one. Irish artist, Irish label? Go support.

Big Zen – Sugarcoated [Mood Hut Records]

Mayhem on a rolling drum beat that slowly finds its way to paradise. Gorgeous loose attack pads shimmer over an infectious low-end willing to push any crowd to its limits.

Ross Mvnro – The Beat Goes On (Edit)

A classic, cute, addicting vocal rework carried by hypnotic rhythms. Top shelf.

Way Out West – Ajare (Original Mix) [Deconstruction]

A true classic which certainly has flown back under the raider in recent years. Nothing else to be said.

Morgan King – I’m Free (The Full-Length La Serenna Mix) [Btech]

And finally, The opener. The closer. The entire set should just be this… I’m ashamed to say that I’ve only come across this track in recent weeks. Discovered through Sasha and digweeds northern exposure mix in which they blend two mixes of the track, this one just hits deep… No more talking. Go listen to this now. Headphones on.
