We team up with Life Festival ahead of the festivals return in three week’s to chat to some of the artists playing to hear about their go-to dancefloor weapons. First up is Derry based RIOT CODE who have selected a collection of galvanising rave scorchers that have been a consistently tearing up the floor.

The thunderous masked duo of RIOT CODE have had a whirl-winded last two years and they’ve kept their feet firmly on the gas as they storm through 2023. Running hot off the back of a multitude of stand-out performances including an Australian tour, a Scottish tour, a headline Index show and many more, the duo are one of the most in demand techno acts on the Isle of Ireland right now.

Outside of the booth the pair have been busy churning out a host of plodded releases on some of the most desired contemporary labels in modern day techno. Releases on 99999999999’s imprint NineTimesNine, JKS‘s Molekul, Paula Temple‘s Noise Manifesto and Homage New York have firmly cemented the Derry duo as one of the most promising name in hard-edged techno.

RIOT CODE selected 5 of their essential club tools ahead of their return to Life Festival.

BEHEĀDER – I Keep My Friends In The Basement [Expel Your Demons]

We always play this track at every show and always goes down well. We actually did our own rework of the track, adding some new elements and editing to give it a slight twist to an already great track.

Blawan – 993 [Ternesc]

This is one of those tracks we tend to keep for some special shows when the atmosphere is electric and it’s the perfect environment to drop it.

Clouds – Parkzicht [Headstrong]

One of our favourite duos that we’ve grown up listening to and a huge inspiration to our own sound and music, this is another special track that we keep for certain shows for the ideal place to drop it.

Blame The Mono – If You’re Not Redlining, You’re Not Headlining

This track is a classic for us and something we always look forward to hearing in the clubs. We’re huge fans of Blame The Mono and their music.

Perc – Dirt (Original Mix) [Perc Trax]

The name of the track says it all. The intense kick, crispy hats and percussion, along with a classic piano sample from “K Klass – Let Me Show You” that comes out of nowhere and always gets crowds wanting more.

O.B.I.– Still Alive (SlugoS Remix) [Distorted]

We’ve had this track with us for a while now and it’s one of those tracks that will never leave our bag, incredible build and vocal with an endless drive that we could never grow tired of, it’s a classic for us.
