We team up with Life Festival ahead of the festivals return in two weeks to chat to some of the artists playing to hear about their go-to dancefloor weapons. Next up on the series Shannen Blessing presents her 5 essential festival weapons as she gifts us with a peak inside her record bag.

Shannen Blessing has been going strength to strength within recent years, quickly becoming a favourite on Irish dancefloors and cementing her name within the Berlin techno scene. Her tongue n cheek brand of vocal driven techno, draws inspiration from dirty Chicago basements right through to the high-energy euphoria associated with the Belgium rave scene, all while still firmly plastering her unique sound through dancefloors across the globe.

Two appearances on the revered Hör Berlin alongside a string of well received self-releases have shot Shannen Blessing into peripheral vision of many high-profile tastemakers within the techno scene. 2023 has been a fruitful year in terms of gigs as Blessing is running off the back of an overwhelming amount of support, receiving shows in Vancouver, Glasgow, Berlin, Belfast, Dublin and more with acclaimed techno institutions Teletech, Shine, Index, SWG3, Remise & more.

Shannen Blessing selected 5 of her essential festival bangers ahead of her return to Life Festival.

Mucassa – Instagroove [Self Release]

This is one of my favourite tracks to play out as it fits so well into all my sets, I’m a huge fan of Mucassa’s productions.

Ges – Tchau (Original Mix) [Ismus]

Ges is another artist I’m a huge fan of. Whenever I play his tracks they always go off, this one in particular is a favourite of mine. I can see the drop in this track going off when it’s played.

KVLR – Noble [Valor]

This track has a catchy vocal and synth. This has an energising drum pattern that is easily mixed into a set.

Rui Da Silva – Touch Me (UntamedBeauty Mix) [Self Release]

This is a great edit of a classic that everyone loves and it’s one that always goes off when it’s played out.

Genex – Hey Boy Hey Girl (Sport Mix)[Akronym]

Another great edit of a classic with a great groove to it, Genex is another favourite producer of mine.
