Goldie has unveiled a new documentary, The Rufige Files, offering a deep dive into the history, sound, and creative philosophy behind his seminal Rufige Kru project.

The feature-length film celebrates one of the most influential forces in jungle and drum & bass, tracing the evolution of a project that helped define the genre’s darker, more futuristic edge.

The film also features interviews with key figures, including Photek, dBridge, Marc Mac, Heist, and longtime collaborator Submotive, who provide insight into the project’s enduring sonic identity.

In addition to chronicling the past, the film examines Rufige Kru’s recent resurgence. The Alpha Omega album, released last year and nominated for DJ Mag’s Best Album of the Year, saw Goldie and collaborators dig into original 1990s DAT tapes to recover archival samples and rebuild elements of the classic Rufige sound.

The Rufige Files is an accessible introduction to the fundamental role Rufige Kru has played in shaping drum & bass and jungle across generations.
