Legendary Dublin nightlife fixture The Mezz is set to make a comeback this summer, returning to Temple Bar under a new concept yet to be revealed.

The venue, part of the Riverhouse complex on Eustace Street, has been closed in recent years but is now preparing to return under a new concept. While details around the name, programming and design direction have yet to be announced, the reopening marks the reactivation of a site that has been home to late-night culture since the 1990s.

Previously operating under names including Peig Sayers and Danger Doyle’s, the space most recently traded as The Mezz, a bar and nightclub. Its multi-level layout, combined with its location in the heart of Temple Bar, has made it a well-known fixture in the area.

What shape the new Mezz will take remains to be seen, but its return adds another piece to the evolving picture of the city’s after-dark landscape, particularly in Temple Bar, which could benefit from a refreshed late-night offering.
