Iarnród Éireann has announced a new set of late-night rail services running every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until December 21st, offering a welcome boost for Ireland’s night-time economy as the winter season ramps up.
The expanded timetable, aimed at supporting hospitality workers, clubgoers and anyone moving across the city after hours, introduces additional departures across several major commuter lines:
00:30 & 01:30 from Pearse to Howth (all stations)
00:35 & 01:35 from Connolly to Greystones (all stations)
00:40 & 01:40 from Pearse to Dundalk via Tara St, Connolly and stations from Howth Junction
00:27 & 02:10 from Pearse to Maynooth (all stations)
23:55 & 01:58 from Pearse to Kildare via Drumcondra and Park West
Irish Rail advises passengers to double-check the correct travel date, for example, selecting Sunday when travelling after midnight, in the app or online timetables. Full Christmas and New Year schedules are now live on irishrail.ie.
Alongside the transport updates, the company also announced details of The Journey Home, a charity concert taking place on Thursday, December 4th, in Dublin’s Christchurch Cathedral. The event, supporting homelessness charity Focus Ireland, will feature performances from Martin Hayes, Tempest Ceol, Padraig Jack and Sinéad Ní Uallacháin, blending Irish and English folk traditions in a reflective seasonal programme.
Iarnród Éireann marks its ninth year partnering with Focus Ireland, with more than €500,000 raised through joint initiatives to date.
