Live at the Liquid Room has become a blueprint for DJing excellence within the techno medium, showcasing Mills’ quick, visceral, and intuitive approach to mixing. The 1995 recording saw him layering an unprecedented 38 tracks, with 17 of his own productions, and even incorporating a tape deck to play unreleased material, an unusual practice at the time. Among these is the demo version of his most iconic track, “The Bells”, originally listed as Untitled A. Alongside Mills’ work, the mix features techno’s foundational producers, Surgeon, Joey Beltram, Claude Young, DJ Funk, The Advent, and more, creating what many now consider the Mount Rushmore of techno.
Three decades later, Mills is bringing this defining moment in techno history to some of the world’s most decorated clubs. It is a rare opportunity to witness not just a performance, but a celebration of techno’s roots, evolution, and enduring cultural impact. A moment etched in history, now reborn for a new generation of listeners and dancers.
