Max HeyraudIn a number of months we will enter into the first festival season in three years. Life Festival among many other Irish festivals have chosen to support emerging and established Irish acts for their 2022 edition.
While the pandemic was mostly a massive inconvenience and total annoyance for those who operate within the entertainment industry, it did force people to examine and re-evaluate how things operate. A common theme from many ticket holders and promoters was to support Irish artists upon the re-opening of the entertainment industry.
Many promoters and club’s have taken the liberty to implement local lineups since nightclubs have re-opened. We’ve seen sold out nights solely thriving on Irish talent which is a refreshing view on Irish dance music. As festival season rolls it seems many festivals are taking a similar attitude into large scale events.
Life Festival is at the forefront for promoting Irish talent, which is not only a credit to the festival but the strength of the artists themselves. Just under 50% of the festivals headliners announced so far are Irish artists which is an outstanding statistic for any festival.
The confirmed homegrown acts for Life Festival include BLK, Cailín, Kettama, Nancy (Live), Obskür, Prymary Colours, Rebuke, Sunil Sharpe, Tommy Holohan & Yasmin Gardezi.
A homegrown crop of acts that represent the Irish dance music landscape both old and new. From seasoned veteran Sunil Sharpe to new comers Obskür. Spanning through a multitude of genre’s and backgrounds. The lineup boasts a strength of Irish dance music as of right now. Not holding their own amongsth each other but side by side some of the most in demand artists in the world.
