Dublin’s EMA made her BBC Radio 1 debut yesterday on DJ and broadcaster Martha’s show with a 30-minute guest mix featuring only released and unreleased music from her label, Woozy.
Yesterday, September 3rd, Woozy label head, Tengu booking manager, Skin & Blister founder, and all-around Irish dance music scene advocate EMA made her BBC Radio 1 debut with a 30-minute guest mix of 100% Woozy material.
The half-hour mix includes a slew of previously released and upcoming material on the label, as well as a first listen to tracks from Jossy Mitsu and Ila Brugal, both of whom will appear on a new Woozy compilation coming out soon. More notable tracks include remixes of label mainstay Coe by Derry’s Or:la and Irish junglist queen Ambit, who appeared on the previous Woozy compilation, among others.

The BBC Radio 1 appearance is just another milestone for an artist who has had a juggernaut of a year, with highlights including a Breaking Through feature on Resident Advisor, a B3B with Timedance founder Batu and fellow-Irish-scene-hero Jio at Love International, a debut at the coveted new German powerhouse venue Openground, a number of stints in London’s fabric, and sharing the booth in her hometown of Dublin with UK bass veterans DBridge and Mala, to name a few.
