Max HeyraudDublin-based duo Obskür has released their Essential Mix, now available for streaming on SoundCloud.
The two-hour journey features a thoughtfully curated selection of their favourite tracks, paying homage to their hometown of Dublin with seminal dancefloor ecstasy-kissed classics and deeply personal selections. The mix also includes a string of unreleased material from the duo.
Obskür now joins the elite cohort of Irish artists who have graced the legendary Essential Mix, a hallmark achievement for any DJ and a particularly significant milestone for those from the UK and Ireland, where the series is revered as gospel. With iconic contributions from the likes of Daft Punk, Carl Cox, and Laurent Garnier cementing its status, the Essential Mix remains one of the most coveted accolades in electronic music.
The list of Irish DJs honoured with this opportunity is remarkably small, adding even greater weight to Obskür’s inclusion as a duo who have proudly represented Dublin throughout their career. They now stand alongside distinguished names such as BICEP, KETTAMA, Mano Le Tough, Matador, Saoirse, Rebuke, Cormac, and Col Hamilton as part of the Emerald Isle’s Essential Mix alumni.
