This week’s entry to Local Selection comes from Seboro, one half of Dublin collective Nocturnal Animal, who delivers an hour-long live recording, guiding listeners through jackin’, rolling grooves, setting the tone to a perfect simmer.

After relocating from Berlin to Dublin, Seboro has quickly established himself as a driving force in the Irish techno scene. Through his collective, Nocturnal Animals, he has cultivated a dedicated community centred on a signature dark and minimal aesthetic, a movement defined by an unwavering ‘music first’ philosophy.

2025 marked a major milestone for Seboro: with two No. 1 EPs on the Beatport Raw Techno charts and debut sets at iconic venues such as Sisyphos, KitKat, and ADE in Amsterdam, he proved his sound resonates well beyond the local circuit. Seboro has also earned regular support slots for international heavyweights, including Marcel Dettmann, Len Faki, Ben Klock, Sama Abdulhadi, Alan Fitzpatrick, and Maceo Plex.

This mix feels like a culmination of Seboro’s various influences, where shades of house and techno collide to create a stomping yet thoughtful journey. Echoes of Berlin nights at Panorama Bar and Sisyphos shine through, while Saturday nights at Dublin’s Index and Wigwam make themselves felt. The mix flows through long, seamless blends of lush chords, pummeling 909-driven power, and nu-school tribal and minimal sounds you might expect to dominate Berghain’s main floor. It’s a kaleidoscopic look at the influences that have shaped Seboro thus far.
