Max HeyraudThis week’s selection for mix of the week goes to Dutch based Turkish born Beste Hira, who has graced us with 66 minutes of 4 deck excellence. The 81st instalment of their widely respected mix series certainly did not disappoint.
The mix starts in a subtle manner, before gradually building up the energy over the course of the first 10 minutes or so until you realise how smoothly the transitions have been executed while increasing the tempo to where you are greeted with some pacey loopy techno that leaves the
listener in a trance. Beste does not stop there though, as she elevates the mood of the mix even further with her hypnotising selections that showcase a deep understanding of groove infused dance music. This mix was an absolute joy to listen to and it will be one that I’ll have on repeat for weeks to come.
In other news, it was announced yesterday that Beste had joined Arcane Agency who are a new booking and management agency based in Amsterdam. Other notable acts that have joined the roster are Lobster, Pector, Tromp and Elisa Batti. The agency notes that they are a young
talented family with a taste of underground techno. I believe the statement breathes truth having listened to Beste’s mix and they are most certainly a talented group to keep an eye on going forward.
