This week’s Mix Of The Week lands courtesy of Cork native, London-based DJ-CK, recorded live from Antwerp at Celebration Of Life, a community-built safer space centring LGBTQIA+ and allies.
Head of trans~late and a familiar presence across Voices Radio, The Queen Adelaide and Tea Break Collective, DJ-CK exists in that fluid space between DJ, curator and community engine. Whether in Cork, Dublin or London, her work consistently threads scenes together, platforming the fringes, amplifying energy, and building rooms.
This recording captures a shift in real time. Bumped from an opening slot into peak-time (00:30–02:00) following a last-minute lineup change, she steps up and meets the moment head-on, locking into the main stage before handing over to LSDXOXO.
What follows is pressure. 140+ hard house, prog and trance, pushed with intent, high velocity, but never blunt. There’s a looseness to it too: euphoric, slightly unhinged, that hazy emotional charge sitting just beneath the impact. Traces of ‘90s DNA run throughout, but it never leans on nostalgia; it reframes it and sharpens it.
