Dive deep into the uncharted waters of High Fidelity’s aquatic electro sound as he joins the UNCERTAIN RECORDS podcast series. The Project Radio resident scurries down twisted hatches of slippery synth patterns, pairing straight-to-the-point Miami bass intensity with subtle references to the Detroit Drexciyan continuum.
Irish electro maestro High Fidelity is the next up on the Uncertainty mix series for Uncertain Records, who have previously welcomed Havik, Tenser, GAFFA and more. The Dublin native’s entry is as what you would expect from the seasoned DJ as he voyages into the dark hallways of electro and techno, cementing his reputation as a forward-facing artist, blurring the lines between the old, the new and the out of the ordinary.
Following on from his standout set at this years Beyond The Pale festival, High Fidelity brings similarly punishing broken rhythms to the table, wasting no time in laying down the hammer. Swiftly and nimbly switching between off-kilter cuts, and relentlessly hurling the energy forward with each selection.
High Fidelity’s ability to weave tracks together to create a wall of sound that feels both sinking and jolting is a testament to how much time he spends away from the decks, burying his head in crates, Discogs wormholes, and YouTube rabbit holes. The Young Don creates a sci-fi-inspired soundtrack with haunting basslines, shimmering synthesisers, and alien-like sound effects, but also shifts into more Miami and Chicago-style ghetto flavours to keep you on the edge of your seat and constantly wondering “What could possibly come next?”.
